More People Will Fix The Health Care Dilemma – Really!!!

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

Health insurance coverage used to be something that just about everyone had. It was relatively inexpensive and many employers provided this to their employees and their families for free. As time has passed, individuals have been forced into paying high premiums for their health insurance coverage, even when they are getting health insurance through their employer and this has created an enormous financial burden on the American public.

The system we have gotten used to has become a out of control twister that is sucking everyone into it’s dangerous swirls. Nothing is expected to get better, if anything is will probably bring about a swifter demise and while no one is really against everyone getting health care insurance or extending some help to working families that are desperately trying to continue paying for their own policies, it is easy to see the handwriting on the proverbial wall, but the truth of the situation is if allowed to continue at its present rate, no one is going to win this race.

The system doesn’t work simply because of the high cost of medical care in the U.S. Many doctors claim that this problem stems from the fact that the cost of malpractice insurance is so high but if you look at the average doctor it does not seem that he is struggling financially, so people wonder if this is accurate. It is difficult to see that doctors and surgeons don’t make enough to get by, after all, we all know that they are making more than what would be considered even an average salary for someone with a degree. These professionals are well paid for the work that they do.

If the high cost of medical care is directly related to the amount of malpractice insurance that doctors and hospitals have to carry then the problem lies with the insurance companies once again. Either way the problems with the system lie essentially within the system itself and unless these problems are addressed health insurance premiums will continue to rise even under the latest proposed plan.

The system has slowly allowed corruption and greed to grow unchecked within the system that is being manipulated through overpriced malpractice insurance and the exorbitant over charges of individual doctors and we will continue to see compounding failures within the system. If everyone suddenly is covered with health care insurance the potential for the system to become a time bomb will increase drastically. Revamping every aspect of the current system with every associated costs getting cut to affordable rates for everyone is the only true lasting fix.

What To Be Aware Of In Any Health Care Plan

Monday, September 6th, 2010

Health insurance is something we all need. If you get one you will most probably be getting some great benefits with it and won’t have had to go hunting for one yourself, like many of us do.

If you are looking for your own health insurance for the first time; there a few things you need to be made aware of. Without knowing these, you’ll be in the dark when it comes to finding and choosing your coverage.

This is just a few handy hints to make you aware of some things and help you avoid the pitfalls in choosing a plan to suit you. Hopefully you’ll take heed to them when it comes to finding your policy.

All policies have certain exclusions and also limitations on your cover. What if you are injured playing a sport? Or something happens while you are travelling? These need checking out.

These are really important and you need to know where you stand. Always check the policy thoroughly, particularly the small print.

If you are on prescription drugs check for this too. Are there benefits for users and are your drugs covered, as many are not. They will just give a discount instead of a co pay on many drugs, this is the main difference from a company policy when nearly everything is covered with co pay.

A pre-existing medical condition is probably the grayest area when it comes to health insurance. So many people buy policies and then discover too late that their condition isn’t covered.

If there is an exclusion rider on your policy, this means you are precluded for any condition that you are being already treated for. Take this cost into consideration when working out your annual medical costs, or get another policy.
